NEW in July 2023, USPS merged First Class Package and Parcel Select Ground into the new Ground Advantage name. This is the cheapest, slowest service USPS offers, with ounce-based rates for packages that weigh less than 1 pound (previously known as First Class Package), and both pound-based and dimension-based rates for packages that weigh more than 1 pound (previously known as Parcel Select Ground).
While Ground Advantage is cheap, it's slow. Priority Mail is more popular because of its faster, reliable delivery, Flat Rate options, and free packaging.

Both Ground Advantage services have the same delivery speed of 2-5 days depending on distance, full door-to-door package tracking, and $100 of USPS insurance included.
Unlike Priority Mail, there's no free packaging available for Ground Advantage—you've got to buy your own boxes or envelopes... but otherwise you can use any type of packaging to ship with Ground Advantage, as long as it isn't a Priority Mail–branded package 👍
